WhatsApp Limits the Number of Messages Users Can Forward to Prevent Spread of Misinformation

WhatsApp is trying to stop battle fake news by limiting the number of already forwarded messages that users could forward to other groups at one time. In the past, these restrictions were only for brazil but now these are rolled out worldwide.

Starting with the WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.7.2 the users of social media platform are not allowed to forward messages already forwarded to more than one group chat on Android. The new rules apply to messages that have already been forwarded.

Let’s explain it with example. If you are originator of a message you can share it unlimited times. In contrast, if you receive a message that has already been forwarded to you, it cannot be forwarded again to more than one group chat. In the next few days, it will be enabled for everyone.
