How would you like to be able to share, evaluate, improve, and act on ideas worldwide? These ideas can be related to society, technology, culture, countries, economic situations - anything that can add value to humanity, or make world a better place. If so then you might like to take a look at the beta version of Idopia, a new site "for thoughtful people worldwide." "Idopia is about being constructive - not cynical," say co-founders Abu Sayeed and H. Adam Ghobarah. Their idea is simple. Any Idopian can create an Idea Page - as many as he/she wants - and then other Idopians can support, oppose, comment on an Idea - "and can do so with intensity," adds Ghobarah, currently a senior manager at Google.
The objective of Idopia is to lower the barriers for ideas to flourish and lead to action. "Building collaboration tools and network will help Idopians share, evaluate, improve, and act on ideas worldwide," says Sayeed, who is Austin-based and has spent the past ten years in various technical and management roles in the wireless telecom industry.
"The Internet has allowed buyers and sellers of stuff that may be of interest to just 500 people worldwide to connect with each other," he continues. "The 'long tail' of ideas includes thousands of innovative ideas from a few hundred pioneers scatter worldwide who are thinking about it; The idea is that Idopia can make this process easier, and more productive, and spur action."
